“Ghana’s Music Is Facing Challenges! Shatta Wale Isn’t the Issue… Let Him Be!” – Mr. Logic

Mr. Logic, artiste manager and chairman of the Ghana Songwriters Association, has come forward to support Shatta Wale amidst the recent controversy surrounding his comments on Nigerian artist Asake’s successful performance at the O2 Arena in London. Shatta Wale had expressed his thoughts on Ghanaian musicians and the music industry in light of Asake’s accomplishment.

Defending Shatta Wale, Mr. Logic emphasized that the issues facing Ghana’s music industry should not solely be attributed to Shatta Wale, and he urged people to refrain from unfairly targeting him. The artiste manager also pointed out that the challenges in Ghana’s music scene are more complex than any individual artist.

Asake had delivered a captivating performance at the O2 Arena in front of a crowd of 20,000 music enthusiasts. Shatta Wale had used his Twitter account to raise critical points about the state of Ghanaian musicians and the overall music industry in response to Asake’s achievement.

He tweeted; “Nigerians are making Ghana music look like feeding bottle compared to Hennessy bottle. Congrats to Asake meeenn!!!”

Shatta Wale returned with a series of posts reading “you people call me a drug addict, why should I risk my life to fill a place for Ghanaians or the music industry? I am okay, I wanted to buy house, lands and investments, I am okay, so filling the O2 is not my priority, my priority is to keep a billion dollars in my account , that is where I am at right now. Nobody should disturb me about filling the 02 or my music”.

Nevertheless, Shatta Wale’s remarks have ignited a harsh and sharp public reaction, with certain Ghanaians criticizing him for being a significant factor responsible for impeding the progress of Ghana’s music industry.

A portion of the populace has strongly criticized him for consistently making pessimistic comments about his fellow musicians. They find it puzzling that he would anticipate the advancement of Ghanaian music while simultaneously harboring unfavorable opinions and not lending support to his fellow artists.

However, Mr. Logic maintains a staunch defense of Shatta Wale, urging Ghanaians to refrain from targeting him. Mr. Logic underscores that Shatta Wale is not the underlying issue causing the challenges in question. He conveys that the intricacies involved in the industry’s growth go beyond Shatta Wale’s role as an individual artist.
