“Ghana’s Music Is Facing Challenges! Shatta Wale Isn’t the Issue… Let Him Be!” – Mr. Logic

https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4047283176475665

Mr. Logic, artiste manager and chairman of the Ghana Songwriters Association, has come forward to support Shatta Wale amidst the recent controversy surrounding his comments on Nigerian artist Asake’s successful performance at the O2 Arena in London. Shatta Wale had expressed his thoughts on Ghanaian musicians and the music industry in light of Asake’s accomplishment.

Defending Shatta Wale, Mr. Logic emphasized that the issues facing Ghana’s music industry should not solely be attributed to Shatta Wale, and he urged people to refrain from unfairly targeting him. The artiste manager also pointed out that the challenges in Ghana’s music scene are more complex than any individual artist.

Asake had delivered a captivating performance at the O2 Arena in front of a crowd of 20,000 music enthusiasts. Shatta Wale had used his Twitter account to raise critical points about the state of Ghanaian musicians and the overall music industry in response to Asake’s achievement.

He tweeted; “Nigerians are making Ghana music look like feeding bottle compared to Hennessy bottle. Congrats to Asake meeenn!!!”

Shatta Wale returned with a series of posts reading “you people call me a drug addict, why should I risk my life to fill a place for Ghanaians or the music industry? I am okay, I wanted to buy house, lands and investments, I am okay, so filling the O2 is not my priority, my priority is to keep a billion dollars in my account , that is where I am at right now. Nobody should disturb me about filling the 02 or my music”.

Nevertheless, Shatta Wale’s remarks have ignited a harsh and sharp public reaction, with certain Ghanaians criticizing him for being a significant factor responsible for impeding the progress of Ghana’s music industry.

A portion of the populace has strongly criticized him for consistently making pessimistic comments about his fellow musicians. They find it puzzling that he would anticipate the advancement of Ghanaian music while simultaneously harboring unfavorable opinions and not lending support to his fellow artists.

However, Mr. Logic maintains a staunch defense of Shatta Wale, urging Ghanaians to refrain from targeting him. Mr. Logic underscores that Shatta Wale is not the underlying issue causing the challenges in question. He conveys that the intricacies involved in the industry’s growth go beyond Shatta Wale’s role as an individual artist.

GOOD NEWS AS MICHAEL KORANTENG DECLARES INTENTIONS TO RUN FOR NUGS SECRETARY FOR INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT.

The one we have been waiting for has officially declared his intentions. Michael Koranteng; well-known across Ghana’s socio-economic and political divide has announced his intentions to run for office in the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) as Secretary for Innovation, entrepreneurship and Skills Development. For a young man well known for his communication skills, his digital start-ups and unprecedented leadership qualities, we believe he will be best to occupy this position to the benefit of all student stakeholders in Ghana. Kindly find below his declaration if intent.

To: ALL GHANAIAN STUDENTS

On the strata of the NUGS priority list are three agents. These are, YOU, as a student, your EDUCATION and the OUTCOME of your education. What this means is that for every leader on the national student front, policies designed must be tailored towards these three or fall out, particularly one that exploits the wholesome capabilities of students in Innovation, in business and trade and in skills development.

The existence of an ever-growing deficit in students being productive after school, financially free and well-employed is a worrying concern which demands dire solutions to ensure that there is solvency READILY TRUSTED, backed by leadership TRIED AND TESTED, to bring closure to this challenge.

This is why I, KORANTENG MICHAEL A. A., with a wealth of experience in leadership, servitude and what it means to aspire for more, wish to offer myself as a sacrificial lamb, to bolster student interest in freedom-serving development for a life fulfilled after school, hence, the introduction of ‘THE NYANSAPO POLICY’ which has YOU, at the centre of it.

Upon careful consultations with all leaders past and present, the Blocs, Universities, Colleges and Training Institutions I have decided to run for NUGS SECRETARY FOR INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT for a fortified student front. I therefore plead your support, advice and solidarity and together, we will fortify NUGS from where it will be left off by the incumbent administration.

Apathy of Students Towards the SRC- Felix Agyei Kuffour

#wherelegonlives

It is quite disheartening that most students find little or no confidence in our student leaders, Student Representative Council. The SRC was instituted to become the very mouthpiece of the whole student populace in various educational institutions, however, while some students find them disfunctioning, others find them inactive at all. Just recently, I had the opportunity to join an SRC asparant’s campaign, moving from halls to halls, hostels to hostels. I vividly remember how a certain lady pragmatically argued that no matter the amount of “sweet” words, she won’t vote. It was a tough blow for this particular asparant, completely confused and heart broken. But why should leaders of the students, by the students and for the students completely be seen as inactive in their office of work?

#wherelegonlives

Apparently, the promises these SRC aspirants use to induce students to vote for them are mostly not feasible. Mostly, the SRC asparants give out promises that makes their fellow students imagine them having “heaven” when the aspirants are voted in. When they are finally voted into office and their promises are not met, students feel they never worked but it might be due to a long channel of administrative work. Students should not therefore hyper their promises they intend to bring on board when aspiring for a position.

#wherelegonlives

Moreover, it is quite rampant that after being elected into their various offices, the vigor and the enthusiasm used in disseminating information during campaigning automatically reduce when they are elected into office. Aaron Goldman once said, “Communicate unto other person that which you would want him to communicate unto you if your positions were reversed”. Communication play a major part in building trust among people and also clarifying misunderstanding. Therefore, our honorable SRC asparants should not break communication with their fellow students even when they are elected into office.

#wherelegonlives

To sum it up, a whole lot of factors contribute to the apathy of Students towards the SRC, but I believe if these two suggestions above are considered, it will help bridge the gap between students loosing hope in the SRC . Thank you

#wherelegonlives
