Myron Boadu is set to be announced as a new player by AS Monaco after the French giants reached an agreement with AZ Alkmaar.

Monaco have also agreed personal terms with Boadu’s agent Mino Railo after an initial misunderstanding which nearly resulted in the club walking away.

According to the trusted Fabrizio Romano, Boadu’s transfer will be made official by Monaco after the striker completes medicals and paperwork during the weekend.

The Netherlands international of Ghanaian descent spent seven years at AZ. He joined AZ academy at 13 years old and Boadu progressed through the ranks with the Dutch club before making his first-team debut in May 2018.

The young forward started the following season in excellent form, scoring three and assisting two in AZ’s first five games, however, an ankle injury ruled him out for the vast majority of the remainder of the campaign.

A fine 2019/20 season came next, with Boadu netting 20 goals in all competitions. Last year was equally as fruitful for the promising forward. The 20-year-old netted 15 times in 31 Eredivisie games.

Unfortunately, he did not make Netherlands squad that crashed out of the Euros at the last 16 stage.
